How to Get Claude to Mention Your Brand
Claude is not just another chatbot. It lives inside tools people use to work, and there too it decides which names appear.
When people talk about AI visibility, almost all the focus goes to ChatGPT. That makes sense given its size, but it leaves out a player that is growing fast and less visibly: Claude, the model from Anthropic. People do not always use it by opening a website; often it is embedded inside a code editor, a support assistant or a productivity tool. That quiet presence is exactly what makes it interesting.
If Claude answers a user about which supplier to pick or which app to use, and it does not name you, you lose a recommendation you never even see happen. Understanding how it decides is the first step.
How Claude recommends
Claude builds answers from what it learned during training and, when the application allows it, from real-time searches. In both cases there is a clear pattern: it tends to name brands with abundant, consistent information from sources it considers reliable. It does not reward advertising noise, it rewards consistent presence.
Anthropic has put real emphasis on the model being cautious and avoiding claims it cannot back up. In practice that means it prefers to recommend what is well documented. A brand with clear explanations of what it does, for whom, and how it differs has better odds than one with barely a reliable trace.
What to do to appear
There is no button or ad that buys your site into the answer. What works looks more like building reputation than hacking an algorithm.
- State clearly what you are. A direct description of your product, its category and its audience helps the model place you in the right context.
- Earn presence in reliable sources. Mentions in media, comparisons, technical documentation and thoughtful reviews weigh more than your own site repeating how good it is.
- Stay consistent across channels. If your name, category and details shift depending on where you look, the model hesitates and leaves you out.
- Answer real questions. Content that solves concrete doubts in your sector is more likely to be retrieved and cited.
The question is not how do I trick the model, but what information exists out there so the model can name me with confidence.
Why measure it separately
Claude does not answer like ChatGPT or Gemini. You can do well in one and vanish in another, because each model was trained differently and consults different sources. That is why measuring only one gives an incomplete picture.
Some tracking tools already treat Claude as a fourth engine alongside ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. Bee LLM, for example, includes it in its daily measurement in Spanish, which lets you compare how each one treats you against the same questions. That comparison is useful: if you appear in three engines and not in Claude, you know where to look.
A summary to start
- Document clearly what you do and for whom
- Build presence in sources the model treats as reliable
- Keep your details consistent across channels
- Measure Claude separately, do not assume it matches ChatGPT
An honest expectation
None of this guarantees a mention tomorrow. Models update, answers vary, and you do not control the outcome fully. What you do control is the raw material: how much clear, reliable, consistent information exists about your brand. The better that base, the easier you make it for Claude to name you when someone asks. The rest is patience and measurement.
