Track your brand in Microsoft Copilot

Nobody installs Copilot: it is already in Windows and inside Word, Excel and Outlook. If you sell to businesses, this is the assistant sitting in front of your customer all working day.

What is going on, in plain words

What makes Copilot different is where it lives: on the work computer. When somebody in a company needs a supplier and asks without leaving the app they already have open, that question goes through here.

It is also used differently. On Copilot people write less and converse less than on ChatGPT or Claude: short questions to settle a specific task and get back to work. Answers are drier and name fewer brands, so getting in is worth more and being left out costs more.

If your name is in that answer, you get the customer. If it is not, you never find out: there is no list of results to check your position in and usually no click either, so nothing shows up in your website statistics.

It is shrinking, and that is information too

Better to say it plainly than sell you the opposite: over the past year Copilot 365 lost more active users in the United States than any other assistant, while nearly all the rest grew.

That does not make it irrelevant, because it is still installed by default on millions of work machines and its audience is exactly who buys in B2B. But it does mean it should not be your first priority if you have to choose where to spend effort. That is what measuring is for: deciding with data instead of hunches.

Here you measure the mention, not the click

One fact worth knowing before you check your analytics and get a nasty surprise: of the traffic reaching websites from AI assistants, ChatGPT accounts for more than 90% of sessions. Copilot, Perplexity, Gemini and DeepSeek contribute volumes that an e-commerce study calls outright negligible.

That does not mean Copilot does not matter, it means its influence does not show up in visits. Somebody at work asks Copilot which supplier to use, remembers the name, then searches for it directly or brings it up in a meeting. The click never happens, the recommendation does. So what you measure here is whether it names you, not how many people it sends you.

How we measure it

We ask your 10 questions to Copilot continuously and store every answer whole: whether it names you, where, in what tone, next to which competitors, which pages it read to build the answer and what it searched for first. You read the month, not the day.

The full method, with the research behind why it is measured this way and what can actually be changed, is in how we measure whether an AI names your brand. And there is nothing to install on your site.

Questions people ask us

Why does it have to be measured every day?

Because these engines do not answer the same thing twice: only three to five out of every ten pages they use repeat from one query to the next. A single answer tells you almost nothing; how many days out of thirty you came up does. It is set out with the data in how we measure.

Can I try it for free?

Yes. The free plan asks your questions to ChatGPT every day at no cost and with no card, so you can see how it works. The other engines come with the paid plans.

Which plan includes Copilot?

From the Pro plan, alongside AI Mode, DeepSeek and Qwen.

Are Copilot and Bing the same thing?

They are connected: Copilot leans on Bing's index to search, but the answer the user sees is generated by Copilot. We measure what Copilot says, which is what your customer reads.

Find out your own numbers, not the industry average

We ask your questions to Copilot and the other assistants and keep the history, so you can see how many days you came up and who came up instead of you. Free plan, no card needed. Full detail on the pricing page.
